We were taught about tableaux, projection & line delivery, use of space, script analysis and character building. We also learned how to dissect Shakespearean language so we can understand our lines, thus giving us the ability to communicate meaning to our wonderful audiences. Overall, we learned creative strategies that will help us to put on a great production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth! Here’s what a couple of our students said:
“I thought it was cool how they talked about spaces in plays because it has opened up new possibilities for me” - Harry, Year 8
“My favourite part was the text analysis because it taught us different ways to gain meaning from the text.” - Lilly, Year 10
Year 9 students will be viewing a performance of Macbeth in Week 1 of Term 2 to aid with their study of Macbeth in English classes, and performances for the rest of the school community will be on the 5th, 6th and 7th of May. Look out for more information in the future. We hope to see you there!
The Sport for Jove workshop was such an amazing and enriching experience, and one that all of us involved will never forget. Thank you so much to Claudia and George from Sport for Jove for providing us with this wonderful opportunity!
