In the April school holidays, I travelled to Melbourne to perform at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival as part of the Class Clowns (stand-up comedy competition for teenagers) National Finals, hosted by Geraldine Hickey. Through representing Smith's Hill, I placed Runner Up at the competition.
It was a great experience to perform for 300+ audience members at The Forum and I would like to thank the SHHS staff for all the words of support. My stand-up performance was recorded and should appear on the Class Clown's Youtube channel very soon. I was also given the opportunity to co-host with Annie and Ando on Joy fm radio, talking about how I came to try stand-up. I was lucky enough to watch a few stand-up professionals while in Melbourne, including Lizzy Hoo, Tom Gleeson and Akhmal. Lizzy Hoo and Patrick Cullen performed while the judges were deciding their choices, and Lizzy shared some words of advice with me, supporting me backstage, commending me for my confident performance.
