One of the world's largest school-based mathematics competitions with more than 14 million entries since 1978. It is organised by the Australian Mathematics Trust. It will be held on
Thursday 27 July 2017
The Competition this year will cost $9.
This will include
- The registration cost and
- Access to the GETSET AMC site which contains practice sample questions.
We would appreciate this payment to be paid to the front office by
Friday 10 March 2017
to allow students ample time to use the GETSET AMC in preparation for this competition.
The competition paper consists of:
a) 25 Multiple Choice questions
Q1 to Q10 worth 3 points each
Q11 to Q20 worth 4 points each
Q21 to Q25 worth 5 points each
b) 5 questions requiring whole number answers.
Q26 to Q30 worth 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 points respectively
There are 3 divisions:
Junior Division - Years 7 and 8, Intermediate Division - Years 9 and 10, Senior Division - Years 11 and 12
No penalties apply for incorrect answers and the maximum score equals 135 points.
NOTE: NO calculators, maths stencils, mobile phones or other calculating aids are permitted.
Students are given 75 minutes.
