Year 7

Year 7 students having recently completed their studies of the Visual Arts fundamentals – The Elements and Principles of Visual Design, and the Four Frames of Reference theory work, and are currently using this knowledge in the creation of ceramic sculptures. Making art in three dimensions presents new challenges for students and develops new skills. Students have the opportunity to create an original sculpture in clay to a set design criteria in terms of construction and then decoration. Once built the sculptures dry out and are then fired in the kiln. Final painting of the work awaits……..(see images)

Stage 5 Photography and Digital Arts

After revising Visual Arts fundamentals, these students have created a series of photographic artworks based upon the ‘joiner-photographs’ of influential artist Sir David Hockney, whose work was itself inspired by the multiple viewpoint abstraction of Pablo Picasso. (see images) Students worked on these artworks digitally utilising the Photoshop program, but are currently in the Darkroom experimenting with traditional wet photographic methods.

Stage 5 Traditional 2D Art

Students have revised their Visual Arts skills and knowledge and then completed a collaged portrait. (see images) Currently the class are working on a painting task consisting of their own choice of subject matter, painting surface and materials, and painting techniques.

Year 11 Visual Arts

Students are finishing off their Preliminary studies and are nearing the end of their experimentation of art media and material processes. With the Yearly exams completed, the class is ready to begin Term 4 as HSC students and develop an artistic Body of Work in an expressive art form of their choice.

Year 12 Visual Arts

Year 12 students have completed their Bodies of Work with great success! (see images) Year 12 must be congratulated on their efforts! Time has passed all too quickly, and the HSC exams will be soon over too. We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours – artistic and otherwise. May you follow your HeARTs!
