On Sunday, 15 September, three SHHS teams competed in the Tournament of Minds State Final at UNSW after snagging 1st place in their divisions at the Regional South Coast Tournament. It was a long, demanding day, with teams arriving on campus as early as 7:30am to develop 10-minute dramatic presentations in just three hours, before presenting them to a panel of judges.
All teams delivered magnificent presentations which made our school proud, showcasing the creativity, critical thinking and dramatic flair that ToM is all about - and the judges clearly agreed! Our highly talented and decorated Language Literature team won Honours in their division and our Social Sciences and STEM teams battled it out with 9 other prime NSW teams, ultimately emerging victorious for a historic double win for SHHS at State level. Well done to all our fantastic teams, and we'll be cheering on our teams all the way to Hobart for the International Finals in October!
