Term 1, 2022
Despite many challenges, our 2021 Year 12 cohort achieved great HSC results and received their chosen post-school tertiary offers. Congratulations to these young adults who have demonstrated values of perseverance, resilience and hard work. A huge congratulations to the following students for being successful in securing an offer for the Vice Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship, out of 10 scholarships that are available to a cohort each year:
- Arthur White
- Aaron Leussink
- Pyper Marshall
- Alexander Stevenson
- Lauren Ashcroft
Congratulations also goes to Gabriel Kennedy for achieving a cadetship in Global Research at UBS. I would like to express my gratitude to Mr Graham Clarke, our Economics teacher, who invested his time to support Gabriel in the application and interview process.
The year 2022 is truly underway. Year 11 were provided with post-school pathways information during their transition day in week 1. They were made aware of the early entry process and UAC during the careers session.
This year students are provided an opportunity to book appointments with our Careers Adviser during recess, lunch and study lessons online via https://smithshillhighcareers.com/
I would like to take this opportunity to invite parents to visit our Careers webpage and explore the “FOR PARENTS” tab. If parents have any questions regarding careers or post-school tertiary education for their child, they are welcome to contact me.
A quick overview of the website:
- Our school careers/pathways website has all your career and post school options information in the one place
- Students and parents can set an appointment
- Complete career related tests and assessments (what careers are you suited to?)
- Create resumes, cover letters and portfolios
- and much, much more!
