Ronin attended the 2022 Science Teachers Association (STA) of NSW Young Scientist Award ceremony last Friday 4 November at the Grand Hall, The University of Technology Sydney. Ronin won three awards on the night for his project titled "Automatic Watering Environmental System, Observing Meteorological Evidence" (A.W.E.S.O.M.E) of which the initial phase was submitted for his Year 8 major science project.
The awards he won representing Smiths Hill High School on the night were:
- AARNet Working Mathematically Award, Secondary Schools - Equal 1st Place
- Innovation and Engineering Design Award, Years 7 to 8 - 2nd Place
- Working Mathematically Award, Years 7 to 8 - 3rd Place
