After 3 years in hibernation the Lion’s Youth of the Year returned this week with 5 outstanding SHHS students vying for the title:
Callum Belgrove, Mia Bolte, Emily Condell, Jaslyn MacKenzie and Cyan Metcalf.
After submitting a detailed resume these students were then interviewed by 3 upstanding members of our local community on current affairs and their achievements. Finally they were required to present a prepared speech and TWO impromptu speeches at the Wollongong Lion’s Club meeting on Thursday evening at the Fraternity Club.
The night was a huge success with all students speaking confidently and intelligently on the topics of Bullies and Covid, thoroughly engaging the audience of Lion’s members, Ms Heka, Mrs Doyle and their parents. In the word of Lion Brian, ‘But there can only be two winners….’
