Glitches no hitch for robotics team

On 28 March, the SHHS FTC Robotics team took part in a competition held at Wollongong TAFE. Over the course of the previous weeks, the team had worked to design and make components of the robot used for the competition. Different small groups worked on constructing separate components to complete the challenge, ensuring that the parts worked together. Groups used a mix of materials and approaches to design and complete the robot. The competition required the robot to be able to collect and shoot foam rings into goals, and many different ideas were proposed to complete this challenge.

On the day, the group competed with and against other teams such as the Gong Invaders, another Wollongong team. During the day, the team faced challenges with the robot that had to be fixed during the competition. This included the robot switching off, components jamming and other small issues. The team worked quickly to resolve these problems and make sure that the robot could continue competing. Despite the issues, the group participated in every match that day.

The SHHS FTC team would like to thank Mr Marsh and Mr Taylor for organising the team and allowing us to participate in the competition.
