New School Play Asks, "Will the Bubble be Popped?"

thebubble1

There may be nothing more confronting than seeing your own life performed in theatre, yet this is exactly what the students of Smith’s Hill High School will see in Ribbit Up Production’s 2020 play, The Bubble

Based in Illawong, the play features the community of Smithfield High School - an academically selective high school housing the likes of ambitious teenage girls, chilled out school captains, and even a Swedish exchange student: climate activist Gert Thunderbird. But when the school building is threatened with demolition by Titanic Enterprises (supported by Premier Lickspittle), what will the community do to save their school? Can they even save it? Or will it all be replaced by an enormous skyscraper, filled with elitism, mystery, and murder? With guest appearances from Her Majesty the Queen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Geoff Fitness from LOSE News and more, this is sure to be a show you won’t forget.

Throughout the past two terms, students from years 8 to 12 have been rehearsing together to ensure a great performance that will leave you questioning which suburb we really live in.

The Bubble is showing in H block at 7pm on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th of March, and 5pm on Sunday 9th of March. Tickets are $10 each and available to purchase in the A block quad from week 5.
