Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Welcome to Smith’s Hill High School, a place where a love of learning and the pursuit of personal best underpins all that we do. As a fully academically selective school, we offer a rich variety of experiences in diverse and harmonious environments, designed to challenge and engage every student.

Our strength lies not only in what we teach—following the NSW curriculum—but in how we teach. We specialise in supporting high potential and gifted students, focusing on the ways they learn to help them grow, thrive, and reach their highest potential. Our talented staff foster curiosity, resilience, and a growth mindset, encouraging students to embrace challenges and learn from every experience.

While academic achievement is a cornerstone, we also prioritise the social and emotional development of our students. We strive to graduate young people who are not only prepared for outstanding career paths, but who also possess the skills and outlook to make our world a better place.

At Smith’s Hill, we celebrate excellence in all fields—sports, languages, humanities, sciences, technologies, music, and the performing arts—and promote a culture where students compete with themselves, aiming for their own personal best.

Here, lifelong learning and lasting friendships flourish.
